Spring Session 2021 will start on Tuesday, April 6th at 6:00 pm with our Parent and Student meeting and run approximately until Thursday May 6th, 2021. Students enrolled in the course must reach their 15th birthday within six months of course completion as prescribed in MCA 61-5-106. Class placement is based on age which we verify and residence within the Manhattan School District given first choice. It is not first come first served.
There are two requirements for students to pass traffic education. One requirement is to complete ALL homework.  The class portion will be taught on-line. Students will have a daily assignment with the opportunity to complete the homework between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 pm.
The second requirement is for students to successfully complete 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observation. Drive and observation times will occur either before school from 6:00 to 8:00 am or after school from 4:00 - 6:00 or 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  There likely will also be drive and observations over Easter Break.  Schedules are made by the instructor and will be available at the Parent Meeting. (Instructors are receptive to trying to accommodate conflicts with the drive schedule within reason).
Parent Night will be held on Tuesday, April 6th at 6:00 pm in the Manhattan High School Commons Area. This is a MANDATORY attendance for the driver education student and at least one parent.
A MANDATORY meeting for ALL driver education students will be on Tuesday, April 13th at 3:30 in the Manhattan High School Large Activities Room.  At this meeting students will be given their test for their learner’s permits.
