Dan Heisler

I am a North Dakota native, growing up in Devils Lake, which is a large A school or small AA school by Montana standards.  I grew up a town boy, who enjoyed the rural atmoshere but whose life could be measured best by the shape of the ball I was around at the time.

I obtained my Bachelors degree in mathematics from North Dakota State University in 1976.  Taught 7 years in North Dakota, including 4 years in my home town of Devils Lake before moving to Thompson Falls, MT.  For 29 years I lived and worked in Thompson Falls, a school very similar to Manhattan, raising a family of 3 children and enjoying the life style of northwest Montana.  Along the way I obtained a Masters Degree in Math Education from Montana State University.

In 2012, some life events happened as I was married to Ann Cowan of Manhattan and decided to start drawing my teacher's retirement and moved to Manhattan.  For the past few years I have worked as a part-time teacher, substitute teacher, website coordinator, and even one stretch of coaching some C-squad basketball for Manhattan schools.

Being a part of the lives of our young people has always been a pleasurable experience for me, whether it is in the classroom, coaching at some level or even umpiring a ball game.
